Something I’m really enjoying seeing in the UK at the moment is the realisation that certain types of lingerie can double up as evening wear - or even daywear and not just in a boudoir based photography studio. Even shops as local as Derby & Nottingham are embracing all sorts of shapes & sizes. Not only this but there’s such a fab variety of fashion & colour available to so many right now.

Why I won’t be attempting to be “beach body ready” this summer

Did you know...?

It's been scientifically proven that our DNA dictates the type of body shape we have? A study, based on 77,000 people, found that genes control the levels of insulin and cholesterol and, as a result, have control of where the body chooses to store fat. Therefore the phrase “beach body ready” has been proven to be inaccurate and, in my opinion, nothing more than archaic and ill educated.

How to talk “filters” with your tweens & teens

“When I use instagram, I don’t think about it as being on my phone, I think about it as being my voice”. Encourage your teen to consider whether they would say or act like that in a real life conversation, including adding a filter to enhance an image, and if there is any hesitation encourage them to walk away from pressing “post”.

Show yourself some love, this February

I’d be silly to ignore that this month has a ‘romantic” vibe attached to it, thanks to, the commercially enhanced, Valentines Day on the 14 February. I’ve never been one for a romantic night for two at this time of year (perhaps its because it’s my birthday month!) however I do think it’s a good time of year to reflect on your own self and check-in on your own wellbeing.
