How to feel like you have won an Oscar, without having to act
Our popular boudoir photography experience is here to stay and this will never ever change. What we have been working on (really hard!) is to extend the ethos of Be Bold Be You so those who may not be ready for a Boudoir moment can still enjoy the ethos we base our work on… Let’s face it, there are other ways to embrace the Arts and it’s something I am really passionate about…
Mary Quant, the creator of short hems and introducer of undergarments for daytime wear
Quant allowed her personality to become part of the Bazaar brand, with the place becoming known for loud music, free drinks and witty window displays… Quant reinvented a three piece suit influenced by the Victorian era - including hat, knickerbockers and a tunic style shift - making it out of grey flannel and thrust what was classed as an “undergarment” into our everyday lives, down the Chelsea high street and beyond.
Be body confident, this new year
I saw a friend of our ten years - a married mum of two - who has run marathons and is known for her energetic ways feeling down on herself because an App has put her in the category of XL for being a size 12. The app, known as Vinted, is a way of selling on your clothes to others, has a search facility for you to browse through your clothing size… It’s quite a cool app, to be fair, and I’ve certainly bagged a few bargains on there over the last couple of months! Having said this, this particular status has stayed in my head for the last few days. Who are these branding giants to be defining categories that could be detrimental to a person’s wellbeing or, dare I say, overall health?
Derbyshire’s own BOLD lady: Vivienne Westwood
“For Westwood, character is like “a bag of tools.” And once you understand that it unlocks something quite overwhelming." Our industry has got some way to go to both understanding and valuing these tools but I know our work, at our humble boudoir studio right here in Westwood’s birthplace of Derbyshire, will be becoming even more influenced by this iconic Master as we go in to, 2023 at Be Bold Be You boudoir photography.”
Why resolutions don’t need to be a new year thing
It’s OK to celebrate something that has already happened and, if I’m honest, I think it’s a really important thing to do… You’ve got 365 days in 2023 so take it steady, make the time for you and don’t beat yourself up after 42 days if it’s not quite been achieved the way you wanted it to be, yet. 6 weeks is just 11% of your year.
How Alex Scott demonstrated being Bold at the World Cup opening game for England
“If you ever want an example of how to be Bold and be You, in my opinion, she has a rapport on camera with is authentic, passionate and honest - incidentally, she was the first ever female presenter to be able to report from the World Cup in 2018 and now, on 21 November 2022, she owned a decision that some felt either unable or incapable of seeing through. “
